1) Why has Google led to the decline of the newspaper industry?
Goggle has led to the decline of the newspaper industry as the article states that google and other online services are the reason why people don't purchase newspapers or read newspapers as they have taken over the industry. it states that it has declined in the traditional media industry.
2) Do you personally think Google is to blame for newspapers closing and journalists losing their jobs? Why?
i think Google is not to blame for newspapers closing down because as the media is developing there are advanced technology out there for the public which therefore excite them more than the traditional methods of media such as newspapers, also now most of the audience that actually use media is teenagers and younger adults and therefore they are more likely to use online services which leaves the newspapers targeted to an older target audience.

Obviously, Google is not to blame. I don’t think it’s about blame. I think the Internet is incredibly poorly designed. Rather than being free, everything on it should cost something in order to compensate creators. We have a prov gofiting from the content of others is well established. Google came along, and, at least in the case of Youtube, knowingly robbed content creators for years in order to build up the business. The ideal system would be one in which every click resulted in a nano-charge on your phone bill, maybe 1/1000 of a cent for a news story, for example. Sites like Google that link to other sites could also pay in very tiny increments.
I agree with this statement as it states how the technology has developed so much that people are now using the internet so much to do everything on, such as read news, watch online episodes, listen to music and much more. This statement is talking about how sights such as YouTube and Google have become so popular its not their fault its the audience now as well as how they perceive their thoughts/

what if they didn’t invent the Internet. They did figure out a good way to advertise on other people’s content without sharing anything with the people who did the work. They could have built a system that actually paid the content creators. They could have tossed in a microcent every time someone clicked on a search link. But no, they kept ALL of the money for themselves. And they still do it. They seem to think that Google News is a service. It’s just a leech on the hardworking reporters.
this comment is blaming google for making the reporters lose their jobs as the person is trying to state that google should give some money and fame to the reporters as well, however its not their fault its the way people use media now that has changed not the internet, and if they want to continue running their business and keep the audiences entertained they cant stop anything from happening but doing what they are doing.
